Time is of the essence to reform eminent domain in this legislative session, which started on January 13, 2003. The legislature will meet for only 40 days over the next 3 months. Please follow the below link to learn about what you can do to make your voice heard in the struggle for due process and equal protection under the law.

The below Web site includes the following facts:

"Georgia Code Title 22 grants unfettered powers of eminent domain to companies who construct, plan to construct, or service power transmission lines. These companies have no Federal, State, or local government oversight to ensure that they do not overstep their bounds. In fact, the Law as written says they are exclusive judge of the need for, the route , and the manner of construction (22-2-102.1). That means they are the developer and the sole reviewer of their own work.  It also means that citizens have no "due process" or "equal protection" under the law. "
